Scoring
Scoring details and examples are listed in the Rules section below.
Rules
Same system for tennis and pickleball. Only scoring format differs by sport.
Challenge anyone in your division. No rank range restriction.
This is an adult-only ladder. You must be 18 or older to play in this ladder.
Scoring formula: Challenger = +2 (challenge sent), whether they win or lose. Winner = sport-volume points + upset bonus (+2 per rank above defeated). Loser = sport-volume points only (tennis: games won, pickleball: points won), plus the +2 if they were the challenger.
Player A challenges Player B. Score: A def. B 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 (A was 2 ranks below B). Winner (A): +2 challenge +9 games won +2 tiebreak diff +4 upset = 17 pts. Loser (B): +10 games won = 10 pts.
Player A challenges Player B. Score: A def. B 11-7, 9-11, 11-5. Winner (A): +2 challenge +31 points won +0 upset = 33 pts. Loser (B): +23 points won = 23 pts. Upset is 0 because A was not lower-ranked.
If a match stops mid-way, submit the completed score and mark it as a retirement. Completed games/points still count toward scoring.
There is no score submission window, but the winner is expected to submit the score promptly.
If players cannot mutually agree on a court, the challengee's home court is the default location. The challengee must inform the challenger of any court-use fees, and all court-specific rules must be followed.
